Hakone Daimyou Procession : November 3 (Holiday)
This flamboyant daimyou (feudal lord) procession is held in Hakone Yumoto Onsen Town. The approximately 170-person procession will feature heralds, people carrying lacquered boxes and lances, musket corps, royal palanquin bearers, house maids, and chamber maids. This event also includes a colorful parade of approximately 110 Yumoto geiko (geisha) doing te-odori dance and a brass band. Keyari lance performances held midway are also not to be missed. Departs from Souun-ji Temple and ends at the Yumoto Fujiya Hotel.

Houmotsu Kaza Ire : November 1 (Sat) to November 3 (Holiday)
Location: Enkaku-ji Temple and Kenchou-ji Temple, Yamanouchi, Kamakura-City
“Houmotsu Kaza Ire” is a yearly ritual where the treasures possessed by Enkaku-ji Temple and Kenchou-ji Temple are aired in the wind to prevent insects. Precious items usually not available to see are brought out for public view during these days only from 9:00 to 16:00. The special fee for viewing the items is \500. In addition, the National Treasure “Shari-den” at Enkaku-ji Temple and the ceiling painting “Unryu-zu” at Kencho-ji Temple are also available to view during this time. (Standard viewing fees: Enkaku-ji Temple is \300 for adults and \100 for children middle-school age and under. Kencho-ji Temple is \300 for adults and \100 for children middle-school age and under.)

Japan Open-Air Folk House Museum Folk Entertainment Performances : November 3 (Holiday)
Location: Japan Open-Air Folk House Museum, Masugata, Tama-Ward, Kawasaki-City
The Japan Open-Air Folk House Museum is an outdoor museum where twenty-five historic buildings have been moved and re-assembled. Farm village kabuki performances will take place at the Funakoshi Stage within the museum (13:30-14:30/cancelled in case of rain). Other attractions within the museum will include an old-fashioned game corner (11:00-12:00, 13:00-15:00/available to the first 50 visitors), straw folk-craft Yahata weaving, children’s stilts, performances of traditional crafts (making Domiya carvings and Ichimatsu dolls), and other events. From 10:00-15:00. Admission to the Folk House Museum is free on November 3 (Holiday).

Ootori-jinja Shrine Tori no Ichi Festival : November 5 (Wed), November 17 (Monday), and November 29 (Sat)
Location: Ootori-jinja Shrine, Minami-Ward, Yokohama-City
Shops selling colorfully displayed ceremonial rakes and daruma dolls as well as various booths fill the shrine precincts with an autumn flavor and are crowded until late at night with people wishing for business success and good fortune. From 12:00 to 24:00.

Yokosuka Curry Festival : November 15 (Sat) to November 16 (Sun)
Location: Yokosuka-City Mikasa Park, Yokosuka-City
Events include curry from across the nation, old naval port Yoishi gourmet booths, the every-popular Navy curry buffet, musical performances by the Maritime Self Defense Forces Band, and a wide variety of shows. From 10:00-15:30.

Zushi Coast Yabusame (Horseback Archery)/Zushi Yabusame Warrior Procession : November 16 (Sun)
Location: Central Zushi Coast and other locations, Zushi-City
After the starting ceremony (from 10:20 in the Kamegaoka Hachimangu Shrine precincts), processions of people wearing warrior costumes, yabusame, and children processions will be held. The course proceeds from Kamegaoka Hachimangu Shrine (departure at 10:30) to JR Zushi Station, Nagisa-dori Street, Ikeda-dori Street, Kamei-dori Street, Shin-Zushi Station, Enmei-ji Temple, Zushi-dori Street, Ginza-dori Street (joins with the children’s procession). Then a presentation ceremony is held (around 11:40), continuing on to Togo-dori Street (12:00) and the Zushi Coast. In the afternoon, gallant Takeda-style yabusume will take place in the afternoon in front of the ocean at the Zushi coast. From 13:10-14:50.
